Directly at the foot of Diamond Mountain and surrounded by the 12 Bens and Connemara National Park, "The Bard's Den" is one of the oldest hostelries in Connemara. Situated in the centre of Letterfrack Village, at the entrance to Connemara National Park and overlooking the village green and Letterfrack Furniture College "The Bard's Den" lends itself as the ideal base for activity or romantic holidays in Connemara. Where history abounds in scenic splendour.

The Bars at the Den
Open fires, comfortable lounges and full service. Seisuns, parties, celebrations and a great night immersing yourself in the culture of traditional Irish music and Guinness. The bars also feature a disco which is the only one in Letterfrack and for miles around. It makes for a great night out and for those who wish to party.

Budget Accommodation
The Bard's Den offers 12 large hostel rooms: Single, Double & 4, 6 & 8 Bed Dorm, all ensuite with TVs, fully serviced and with full food and beverage facilities available. Continental breakfast is included in the prices and full Irish is available. Because of our location at the entrance to Connemara National Park and in the heart of The Twelve Bens we are ideally located to cater for Walking Groups and Cycling Groups or individuals. We also offer free Bike hire to our residents.

Dining at The Den
The food at the Bard's Den always features fresh local and Irish produce where possible and when in season. Crab, mussels, scallops, pollock and salmon are all sourced locally. Trout, brill and more are harvested off the west coast. Lamb dishes are prepared from Connemara lamb and feature Irish Stew, Rack of Lamb, Lamb Shank, Centreloin Lamb Cutlets and Roast Leg of Lamb. Only prime Irish beef is offered and the Bard's Den is renowned for its Fillet, T-bone, Entrecote Steaks and Ribeye steaks. Add in Smoked Salmon, Chowders and homemade brown bread. There is no better way to finish a Connemara day. Light snacks to full meals always available.
Letterfrack
Letterfrack is a seaside community surrounded on one side by the 12 Bens and Connemara National Park. On the other side it is bounded by Ballinakill Bay and the Renvyle Peninsula. In every direction spectacular scenery abounds and the landscape is littered with historical references to mans occupation of this coastal region since 5000 BC.
