unique holiday experience in the West of
Ireland.
Lough Mask Holiday Home, Keel Bay offers
seclusion, tranquility and beautiful scenery on the
shores of Lough Mask, County Mayo, Ireland, all
within a few paces of your totally private, fully
equipped mobile home which is far removed from
traditional caravan sites. Private gates give
direct access to the secluded location of the
1-acre site with mobile home. This is an ideal
place for relaxation, fishing, painting and
observing the abundant wildlife.
As its name suggests, Keel Bay is formed where
the Keel River, which links Lough Mask with Lough
Carra, joins Lough Mask. The picture above is taken
from one of our boats leaving the bay and heading
out into Lough Mask. In the distance are the Party
Mountains, providing a stunning backdrop to the
Lough, which has many islands and bays to
explore.
Doris speaks fluent German and French.
Accommodation
A 38-foot fully equipped mobile home with a
comfortable living area with dining table, gas
fire, TV/Video, DVD and Radio. There are 3 separate
bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and two with 2 single
beds. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking
utensils, dishes and a gas cooker and fridge. There
is a shower room with a bath/shower basin, sink and
toilet. All bed linen and bath towels are included
in the rent. Outside is a picnic area with grill
and a shed for all your fishing gear.
How to find
us
- Keel Bay is located in the township of
Aghinish near Ballinrobe, just of the N84 that
joins Ballinrobe to Castlebar. Ballinrobe is
approx. 6km and offers a wide range of shops,
restaurants and pubs with traditional music and
dance
- Castlebar, Westport, Achill Island, Galway
and Connemara are all within easy reach. We are
happy to provide details of the best routes
around this beautiful area and other activities,
such as golf, horse racing and other tourist
attractions within the area
- The airports of Knock and Galway are approx
45 minutes away
Fishing
- Trout, pike and perch fishing from our
private shores and lake boats is free of charge
and no fishing licence is required. Boats are
available for hire including outboard engine and
life jackets
- Irrespective if you are a "master-fisherman"
or a novice you will find Lough Mask the ideal
location for this sport. The common local
fishing methods are fly-fishing and trolling.
Lough Mask is renowned world over for its wild
brown trout, the elusive and very big ferox
trout, large pike and perch and many large
specimens have been caught here.
