About Us

Plougastel House B&B is a friendly family-run bed and breakfast located on Distillery Road, Westport in County Mayo. Plougastel House is within easy walking distance of Westport town centre and is the ideal base for a relaxing holiday or business trip.

Guest accommodation includes en-suite facilities, TVs, private parking and a cup of tea after your journey. Our breakfast menu includes a vegetarian option. For a relaxing space our guests have the use of our TV lounge. We look forward to meeting you!

Facilities

Our home has seven bedrooms available to guests. Each room has central heating and colour TV. Guests will enjoy all rooms fully equiped with todays luxuries to make your stay more homely. Our guests can choose between a traditional Irish, a continental breakfast cooked to order using only freshly prepared local produce.

Amenities

Westport is one of Ireland's most popular holiday destinations. The town itself has recently been awarded the overall winners of the 2001 Irish Tidy Towns competition. Westport also has a great selection of top class restaurants where dining out caters for all tastes and pockets, and just a few minutes walk from Plougastel House. The town centre's well renowned selection of pubs and bars is where you can find live music, great atmosphere

Westport's own Leisure Park provides a swimming pool, gym and treatment rooms to cater for every find of relaxing weekend, with a newly opened cinema right next door.

Croagh Patrick has been a place of pilgrimage for 1500 years, named in honour of Irelands national apostle, Saint Patrick. Every year people travel from all over the world to climb to its summit, not only for religious purposes but also to view the spectacular 'Clew Bay'.

Golf

Westport also has it's own Golf Course which is an 18 hole championship course considered to be one of the best in Ireland and a 9 hole course both within driving distance from Plougastel House.

Beaches

Westport, with its miles of coastline, has many beautiful, sandy blue flag beaches. These are ideal for swimming and walking.

Water Sports

There are sailing and yachting facilities available in Westport.

Angling

Fishing is very popular in the area, with shore fishing and boat fishing available locally. There are also sea and fresh water fishing as well as deep sea fishing facilities in thearea.
