You are welcome to Ardtarmon where you will find
comfortable and relaxing accommodation in unique
surroundings.
Ardtarmon is located on the north shore of Sligo
Bay, 11 miles Northwest of Sligo with panoramic
views of mountain and sea up to 60 miles
distant.
The house and farm have been in the family for
five generations since 1852 with the house being
expanded over the years since the 1890's. The
grounds around the house encompass about 10 acres
with many trees enclosing different sections giving
a number of different aspects and many varied
walks.
Amenities include a games room and all weather
tennis court and a 500 metre path to the beach,
which is safe for swimming and from where you can
walk the beach for many miles.
The sun may not always shine but the weather
station has many years' records of rainfall and
temperature.
 
The House
(B&B)
The house and cottages are set among mature
grounds in a quiet location in beautiful rural
surroundings on the north coast of Sligo Bay, 11
miles north west of Sligo town in the Yeats
Country.
The house has been the family home since 1852.
The residence offers tranquil, spacious and
comfortable accommodation with a nineteenth century
ambience, much original furniture and with four
large en suite bedrooms. There is a notable feeling
of quietness and peace as the nearest minor road is
a quarter mile away.
Farm and Food
(B&B)
The 70 acre farm includes cattle, sheep, free
range poultry, pigs and a variety of crops
including, grain, potatoes, vegetables and
fruit.
Much of the food cooked in the house is home
produced or local with an emphasis on organic.
Menus are mainly traditional and endeavour to
bring out the essential flavours of fresh
ingredients.
Self-catering
Cottages
The five self-catering cottages in the original
farm yard and grounds include:
- A gate lodge
- A thatched cottage
- Converted stone-built farm buildings
They range in size from one to three bedrooms
and are pleasantly and comfortably furnished, three
having open fires. Laundry facilities and a
payphone are available.

Amenities
Amenities include a hard tennis court,
television, a games room in a converted stable, an
extensive garden and grounds with panoramic views
of the sea and mountains. A five hundred yard path
through the fields leads to the sea and a beach
which is safe for swimming.
